We've hit 60!

We are very pleased to announce the additional licensing of our products, bringing the total number of licensed sites to sixty.

Star Tribune, Minneapolis, MN, signed with BURT and will license the complete suite of modules and pursue integration with Ferag through the LineManager™/BURT Open Control Interface (OCI).  Installation is planned for Q1 2006.

The News & Observer (Raleigh, NC) has licensed selected modules of The BURT System™ including PackagingManager, DistributionManager, Tracker/RF, and the BURT OpenInterfaceand will integrate with GMA through LineManager & the BURT Open Control Interface (OCI) in conjunction with their purchase of additional GMA SLS-3000 inserting and downstream equipment.

The Orange County Register (Santa Ana, CA) has licensed selected modules of The BURT System including PackagingManager, DistributionManager, ReportManager, Tracker, BURT OpenInterface™, LineManager™ and AddressManager.  The BURT System will interface with existing GMA equipment.

Contra Costa Times (Walnut Creek, CA) and Akron Beacon Journal have licensed selected modules of The BURT System™ including PackagingManager, DistributionManager, ReportManager, and Tracker, and along with existing BURT users The Miami Herald, San Jose Mercury News and Fort Worth Star-Telegram will seamlessly integrate with inserting machine controls from Enternet through LineManager and the BURT Open Control Interface (OCI)™.  With BURT AddressManager™, the Star-Telegram is able to accomplish selective inserting down to an address of one.

Saint Paul Pioneer Press has added LineManager and will interface with inserting machine controls from GMA.

BURT LineManager™ provides a bi-directional interface between the BURT System™ and packaging control systems and downstream equipment via the BURT Open Control Interface (OCI) Microsoft SQL database.  Such an interface provides single-point run management, timely feedback to the BURT System™, and a high degree of production accuracy and accountability.

LineManager™ may be seamlessly integrated with computerized packaging control systems, including GOSS, GMA, Ferag, EnterNET's e3000, NewsCom from NEWSTEC, Inc., MiraSert from Miracom, and APSOLUT Workcell Control System from APSOLUT.

Data Replication

Maintaining a regular backup of your BURT System data is extremely important.  With a backup copy of your data you may restore your system to the point of when the backup occurred.  The backup could, however, be several hours if not days old.

The DX data replication option using Pervasive DataExchange significantly enhances your backup strategy by replicating your data, real-time, to another server.  This standby or failover server could be located anywhere, including an off-site location.

Additional benefit is realized by off-loading ad hoc reporting and queries to the standby server, reducing the load on the primary production server and database.

DataExchange technology works by capturing and sharing changes from one database to another.  In the event of a failure of the primary server, your critical application data are immediately available and up-to-date.

Of course, DataExchange is not meant to be a replacement for your regular backup but rather part of your overall disaster recovery plan.
