General Background

I grew up in Madison, Wisconsin.  I moved from Madison to St. Louis in 1990 upon graduation from the University of Wisconsin.  My father spent his entire career in newspaper production.  He spent the last 35 years of his career with Lee Enterprises prior to retirement.  (I have also had several relatives that spent significant portions of their careers in the newspaper industry.)  When I moved to St. Louis in 1990 I spent my first 7 years as a sales representative in the computer industry.  I spent the last 9 years in St. Louis media (8.5 years at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and 6 months at CBS Radio - St. Louis)

Professional

My first 5 years at the Post-Dispatch were spent selling online advertising (2 years) and newspaper advertising (3 years).  My last 3.5 years at the Post-Dispatch were spent at Preprint Manager in Advertising.  This role included wearing many hats.  I had a deep, cross-divisional relationship with Circulation, Advertising, Production and Technology as Preprint Manager, and I began using Burt in 2005 and was part of a 5-person Burt Systems implementation team at the Post-Dispatch.

My six months prior to employment at Burt was spent selling advertising with CBS Radio - St. Louis.
