
Larry served in the US Air Force between 1961 and 1965 and
completed Aerial Photo School. He
was assigned to the Aerial Photo Squadron in Wiesbaden, Germany, that included
support and printing of aerial flight maps for mission runs.
In September, 1965, he began his newspaper career with The
Denver Post in Colorado as an apprentice photoengraver and was promoted to
Journeyman Photoengraver and Engraving Department Assistant Foreman three years
later.
He was promoted again to department foreman of the newly
established Color Engraving Department in September, 1978.
Another promotion in July, 1985, made him manager of the
Engraving, Page Transmission and Offset Plating Department with added
responsibilities for implementation of prepress transition to the new printing
facility brought online in August, 1986.
Larry assumed the additional position of Quality Control
Manager a couple of years later. And
in January, 1990, he was promoted to Production Manager of the Fox Street
Production Facility, responsible for Offset Plating, Press, Mailroom, Mechanical
Departments and Quality Control.
Retiring from the Denver Post at the beginning of 1997, he
joined Burt Technologies, Inc. in Evergreen, Colorado, later that year in August
as Sales Manager of the Burt System family of packaging and distribution
software. A promotion that
following January made him General Manager/Sales, a position he currently holds.
