Jim and his wife Connie are the proud parents of Emily Ann ShiJia and Allison Xie.

Jim, Connie and Allison left home on September 10, 2003 and traveled to Chicago, IL and on to Beijing, China, before joining Emily Ann in Lanzhou on September 16, 2003.

From Lanzhou it was on to Guangzhou for the obligatory Consulate appointment and relaxing stay at the White Swan, before continuing on to Hong Kong, San Francisco and back home to Denver.

Allison arrived home from China on Thanksgiving evening 2000.  Adopted through Chinese Children Adoption International of Englewood, CO, Allison spent her first year in foster care at the LePing orphanage in the Jiangxi province.

Connie and Jim were in China for over two weeks, traveling through Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Guangzhou and ultimately to Nanchang, capital of the Jiangxi province, where they met Allison.  After spending nine days in Nanchang completing provincial paperwork, they traveled back to Guangzhou for the required interview at the American Consulate.  While in Guangzhou, Allison celebrated her first birthday with another adoptive girl at the Hard Rock Café!

Allison and Emily are part of an ever-growing number of adopted Chinese girls not only here in Evergreen, but throughout the Denver metro area and the entire country.
